Employment and Income Generation

Job creation is an important component of a country’s economic development and the social and political stability that come with it. Governments and organizations around the world turn to NORC to help them develop and evaluate job training, microenterprise, and other programs meant to drive entrepreneurship, expand employment opportunities, and enhance earning power. NORC’s expertise in economics, finance, and culturally specific survey design lend themselves particularly well to the assessment of micro-financing programs. NORC evaluated such programs in Indonesia, Benin, and the former republic of Georgia, among other locations. NORC has also evaluated the African Cashew Initiative and the Competitive African Cotton for Pro-Poor Growth Program funded by the German government and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and conducted several projects for local Millennium Challenge Account entities, including the implementation of a tracer survey of vocational education and training applicants in Namibia.
