Michael Boyer

As vice president of Contracts and the General Counsel for NORC at the University of Chicago, Michael counsels executive management on a wide variety of legal issues. He also serves as the Chairman for NORC’s Data Governance Board, providing guidance and training to researchers across the organization on privacy and data governance.
Prior to joining NORC, Michael worked as a research assistant at the University of Chicago’s Biological Sciences Division’s Department of Psychiatry. Michael joined NORC in 2007 as a researcher in the health group. After graduating from law school, he worked as a law clerk and associate attorney at a small law firm in the suburbs of Chicago. He returned to NORC in 2010 as a contracts attorney.
Michael holds a JD from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a Masters Degree in Sociology from DePaul University, and is an active member of the American Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois.
