Jeff Bryant Joins NORC at the University of Chicago as the Senior Vice President of the Telephone Survey and Support Operations Team
CHICAGO, Feb. 2, 2021 —Jeff Bryant has joined NORC at the University of Chicago as the senior vice president overseeing Telephone Survey and Support Operations (TSSO), the department responsible for all survey dissemination and data collection via phone, web, and direct mail.
“Jeff brings a great deal of expertise to NORC, and we look forward to gleaning insights from his industry experience as we continue to enhance our operations,” said Ron Jurek, executive vice president and chief information officer at NORC.
In this role, Bryant directs the complete suite of survey data collection and survey support operations, with five call centers and a mail operation collectively employing over 1,000 staff and making over two million calls weekly. His contributions to methodological and operational decisions support the data collection process, balancing both efficiency and quality goals. In addition to the TSSO group supporting NORC’s clients across diverse research areas, Bryant will also play a pivotal role in NORC’s business development efforts.
“This is a critical time for data collection as our world changes so quickly,” said Bryant. “I am thrilled to join NORC to support its best-in-class survey operations as society continues to seek out reliable insights and research they trust.”
Prior to joining NORC, Bryant served as the director of the National Processing Center within the U.S. Census Bureau. In this role, he directed data collection and processing operations for the 2020 Decennial Census and more than 40 other national demographic and economic survey programs. Bryant also served as the director for the Division of Emergency Operations with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), acted as a federal coordinating officer for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and served as a colonel in the U.S. Air Force, holding two commands.
