CHICAGO, Oct. 26, 2022 — NORC at the University of Chicago is delighted to congratulate Samuel “Chris” Haffer, Chief Data Officer at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), on his 2022 Datum “Federal Chief Data Officer” Award.

Haffer received the award in part for his work on EEOC Explore, an interactive data query and mapping tool he developed in collaboration with NORC as part of the EEOC’s Data and Analytics Modernization Program. 

The Datum Awards are presented by the Data Foundation’s Data Coalition initiative to innovators, leaders, and champions in the use of data in evidence-based decision-making, transparency, and accountability, to better the U.S. government and society.
