Amy Sheridan
As director of accounting, Amy leads a 20-person team responsible for financial statement preparation, contract costing, payroll, invoicing, accounts payable, and travel reimbursements. She is a key contributor to NORC’s administrative transformation, known for her strategic thinking, process improvement ideas, and commitment to staff development.
Amy brings decades of experience in financial leadership across government, nonprofit, and private sectors. At NORC, she has worked to improve the operational efficiency of the Accounting department, served as a key member of the FACET initiative and introduced innovative staff engagement programs—including a mentoring initiative and training in technology. Her efforts have resulted in improved morale and engagement, as well as enhanced interdepartmental collaboration.
Before joining NORC, Amy held leadership roles at Fermi Research Alliance, LLC at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, where she improved financial reporting to shareholders and stakeholder communication. She also served as CFO at SS White Burs, Inc., where she oversaw international finance operations. Her early career at Arthur Andersen laid the foundation for her expertise in audits and strategic analysis.
Amy is known for her ability to connect people and processes, her passion for continuous improvement, and her deep technical knowledge in accounting and compliance.
