Ron leads NORC’s information technology and Advanced Data Solutions Center divisions and data collection operations.

Ron is the executive vice president of operations and chief information officer, overseeing all areas of NORC’s information technology services, systems, support, and security. His portfolio includes the operational business units for all in-person field and telephone data collection, as well as the Advanced Data Solutions Center (ADS Center), NORC’s growing array of data management, computational science, and informatics solutions.

With more than 30 years of experience in technology across a range of industries, Ron is a change agent for NORC, assembling strong and successful technical teams that work in close partnership with their research colleagues. His balance of technical skills and management expertise contribute to the success of major cross-departmental projects and corporate initiatives that support NORC’s continued growth and evolution in social science research. 

As the senior NORC IT leader and head of data collection operations, Ron maintains a keen focus on operational excellence, leading the teams that form the operational support system for the entire company. He manages core internal departments to ensure all NORC employees have the tools and resources they need to work effectively, while also playing a substantive part in our approach to data collection and project-based work for our clients. 

Along with his leadership of data collection operations, a foundational pillar in executing NORC’s mission and vision, Ron also oversees NORC’s ADS Center and its flagship platform, the NORC Data Enclave®, which provides high-performance computational, storage, and cutting-edge statistical, analytical, visualization, and reporting tools.

Prior to joining NORC, Ron held various management and technology leadership positions, providing him opportunities to head national and global teams. Ron has delivered both large- and small-scale technology projects and implemented business-transforming initiatives at Fortune 500 companies, including Sempra Energy, Tribune Company, Morton International, and Arthur Andersen & Co.
