Carrie currently serves as an associate project director for the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS). She has special expertise in assessing, designing, and modernizing data structures and pipelines. Using her data management expertise, she oversees all aspects of the project’s data processing and data delivery. She collaborates with other NORC staff and the client on efforts to improve data relevance and usability and manages the integration of new technologies and initiatives. Carrie has worked to develop approaches for data ingestion, linkage, harmonization, and enrichment for policy evaluation and outcomes research. This includes continued support of NORC’s business development efforts in all-payer claims databases (APCDs).
She has special expertise in assessing, designing, and modernizing data structures and pipelines. Projects and initiatives of note include health care analytics consultation for the California Department of Health Care Access and Information’s Health Care Payments Data Program, data processing oversight and optimization on the MCBS, and leading the development of a congressional report on the burden of sepsis in the United States hospital care system with analyses using the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) data.
