Jackie Sheridan-Johnson

Jackie is a mixed-methods researcher focused on violence prevention, public safety, and substance use prevention and treatment.

Jackie is an experienced project manager overseeing several national longitudinal surveys on technology-facilitated abuse, gun violence, and elder abuse. Additionally, Jackie has served as project manager for several policing studies, including a national survey of police use of force and two randomized controlled trials evaluating the impact of community policing and problem-oriented policing strategies. Jackie has several years of experience providing technical assistance and evaluation to grantees reporting Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) data to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) to evaluate the impact of Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) programs.

As the project manager for the Growing Up with Guns (GWG) study, Jackie manages a three-wave longitudinal survey of exposure to gun violence among U.S. youth and young adults ages 10-34 using the AmeriSpeak panel. Her role on this project includes developing the survey instrument, cognitive testing, and managing survey implementation. Additionally, Jackie oversaw the implementation of the GWG Youth Advisory Group which embeds youth voices throughout each phase of the research. 

As project manager for  A Place Based Approach to Address Youth-Police Officer Interactions in Crime Hotspots,  Jackie coordinated implementation and outcome data collection in three police departments in the mid-Atlantic. Jackie also managed the implementation of a community survey across the three study sites, which utilized in-person and online data collection methods.
