As senior vice president, Juan is responsible for the leadership and general management of the NORC Field Operations department, which includes a national team of Regional Managers, Field Managers, and more than 800 Field Interviewers. He is additionally responsible for functions that support NORC’s nationwide Field Operation. Juan’s expertise is in operations management, maximizing the potential of people, process, methods, and technology to drive data collection quality and efficiency.
On an annual basis, Juan leads the Field interviewers to complete more than 30 projects of both national and local scope. Employing more than 30 years of experience in respondent relations, and collaborating with NORCs Research teams on methodology, projects maximize response rates with difficult to reach populations. Juan’s expertise in process efficiencies and use of effective measurement systems ensures that projects are completed on-time and within budget parameters.
Prior to NORC, Juan led Field Operations teams at the Nielsen Company. He was instrumental in implementing electronic measurement of television audiences, expanding local measurement throughout the US, and led the international Field Operations unit which included television audience measurement and consumer product purchases in 28 countries. His expertise in driving high response rates and operational effectiveness helped Nielsen to become an industry leader over more than 20 years.
