Anthony is an expert in survey research design and quantitative evaluation methods.

Anthony is a senior research methodologist in the Methodology & Quantitative Social Sciences department at NORC at the University of Chicago with expertise in survey and experimental research design, quantitative methodology, and complex data analysis. He has a breadth of experience in questionnaire design and testing, quasi-experimental and experimental research design and evaluation, and multivariate statistical analysis. Anthony’s project work has covered survey design, data collection production and quality monitoring for longitudinal and repeated cross-sectional surveys, and quantitative methods for causal inference in program evaluation. Anthony works on projects across several topic areas including public policy, labor, criminal justice, health care, and public opinion.

Anthony works on a variety of projects for both government and non-government clients at NORC. He manages the Entrepreneurship in the Population (EPOP) questionnaire design and implementation process and conducts key methodological and analytic tasks related to data collection production and progress for both the NLSY79 and NLSY97 cohorts. Anthony served as the analytic lead on the Harms After a Victimization: Experiences and Needs (HAVEN) project where he was responsible for designing methods for estimating financial cost of victimization models. Anthony also contributed methodology and analytic leadership to the Concordance Academy Evaluation and the Maryland COVID-19 Contact Tracing project.

Before joining NORC, Anthony worked as a researcher at the National Safety Council where he conducted research on environmental, health, and safety best practices and emerging trends in reducing workplace serious injuries and fatalities. Anthony also teaches graduate level statistics and research methods courses at DePaul University. He has authored over 10 peer-reviewed social science journal articles, book chapters, and commentaries.
